2025 and Its Changes

Greetings from the TOI team in Cuba!

2025 has begun! The new year bring new goals and challenges for the ministry. Our team in Cuba are working diligently and developing strategies so that providing humanitarian aid to the island can be more effective and reach those most in need. We have managed to strengthen relationships with local churches, both within the city of Santa Clara and in towns throughout the province.

The authorities at the Provincial Directorate of Public Health have helped us greatly. They have welcomed us with open arms and kept us informed about the procedures and regulations for sending donations and their distribution to the highest priority medical centers. Some Cuban health professionals have instructed us on the greatest needs and struggles of Cuban hospitals and, in turn, which medical supplies or equipment would be most useful in these institutions.

The group of entrepreneurs that make up the third generation of the TOI Microfinance program continue to prepare business proposals benefitting the Christian community and the Cuban population in general. The scope of the opportunities provided by TOI has not only blessed independent individuals but has also brought hope for progress to several families, revitalized other ministries, and strengthened initiatives of several churches in search of self-sustenance and independence. Young pastors, doctors, engineers, teachers, businessmen, and farmers have joined the training courses and are looking for ways to bring their business proposals to reality, even in the midst of the difficult circumstances that the country experiences. Certainly, the lives of many are being transformed, and we hope to continue seeing new dreams come true in the coming months.

In addition, we are planning our next mission trip to the island. We are very excited and hope to be able to share the good news of salvation with many people. Despite how complicated life is for Cubans, they have always opened their doors to us and have listened to the message of the Gospel. We pray that the Lord continues to put passion in our hearts and strength in our bodies to continue bringing His work to the hungriest and most needy. We ask our friends and collaborators to continue supporting us in this arduous battle. As the Bible says, some plant, others water, and someone else will reap the fruit of this work (1 Cor. 3:6-9). The time is the Lord’s.
