Partnerships in Uncertain Times

If you read last month's blog, then you were able to hear directly from Niurka how our Cuban team is working serving on the island. However, you would have also heard about faithful friends willing to partner with us while TOI American teams cannot be present on the island. If you have not read that post, you can read it here.

We are so grateful to the team from St. James who willingly took cash for our Cuban team's operations budgets. In these uncertain times regarding government decisions, food insecurity, and power outages, it is unsafe for our American team to work in Cuba. However, we are not stopping our work FOR Cuba!

In small ways, we have been able to purchase medicines in Miami and have them shipped by friends and family members through the Miami contacts and the small shipping groups. Please pray that these options will still be available as they are partly Cuban government approved. They could be shut down at any point.

On a larger scale, we have been able to pcase a container filled with 38,000 pounds of dehydrated food, and it is on its way to the island now! In partnership with Crowley transportation and Sus Manos Gleaners, we are able to send food to the churches for distribution. This is a blessing we have been trusting the Lord to receive for over six months!

So to summarize: TOI works passively during this season but in meaningful ways for the Cuban people because we have incredible partners who are already connected in shipping and trading for Cuba.

We are saddened that we cannot be present on the ground, but we are so grateful that the Lord has made ways for us to be intentional in ministry!
