Blessings, friends of TOI.
It fills us with joy to tell you about our recent trips to Cuba and the great things God is doing there. We visited Havana, steeped in history and with the fastest pace of life in the country. In addition to enjoying the wonderful architecture, we were able to spend a day at the beach with a group of young Christians from various local denominations, singing and praying. We also shared teachings of Scripture by the sea. We were able to learn about the many challenges Cuban Christian youth face in these times and also about the passion for Jesus that dwells in their hearts.
On our operational visit to the center of the island, we traveled to the iconic city of Cienfuegos, where we met with several pastors from the Assembly of God and Los Pinos Nuevos churches and discussed the current challenges and projects of the Cuban church in the area. It is refreshing to see how, despite lacking material or human resources, our brothers and sisters strive to bring the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ to a people so in need, as well as providing material aid and humanitarian support to the most disadvantaged. We had the privilege of praying for our new friends and the work that the Lord has placed in their hands, offering them our support in their local projects.
In addition, bags of food were delivered to several people throughout our stay, for which we extend our gratitude to all our friends at TOI who have decided to share what God has given them with our brothers and sisters in Cuba. The church and the Cuban community express their joy at seeing people from other nations choose to contribute their time, resources, and prayers to support the good of the island. It is our desire to continue working on this project alongside all of you.
